A weekend of strength, philosophy, and embodied practice.

This immersive weekend at bodyRIOT explores how yoga’s deeper teachings come alive through movement, devotion, and inquiry. Blending traditional philosophy, mythic storytelling, and physically challenging asana, this immersion invites practitioners to explore strength, courage, discernment, and devotion both on and off the mat.

This workshop is designed for dedicated yoga practitioners and teachers who enjoy exploring arm balances, inversions, and more advanced postures—and who want to approach those practices with intelligence, meaning, and sustainability rather than force or performance.

Throughout the weekend, we will explore the processes that lead toward challenging postures like arm balances, headstand, and Hanumanasana. Rather than focusing on “achieving” shapes, the practices emphasize progressive sequencing, mobility work, and alignment-based exploration to help students build strength, confidence, and trust in their bodies.

Philosophy, mantra, and myth will serve as guiding threads throughout the weekend, offering a deeper context for why we practice and how these teachings can support us both physically and energetically.

What You’ll Explore

Participants can expect to develop:

• Greater strength, mobility, and confidence in challenging postures
• Intelligent pathways into arm balances, inversions, and deeper expressions of asana
• A richer understanding of Yoga philosophy and mythic storytelling
• Tools to integrate effort and devotion in both practice and daily life

Weekend Flow

Friday Evening – Devotion & Intention - We begin by setting the container for the weekend through practices of connection, reflection, and devotion. Together we’ll explore what it means to truly live your yoga and how the philosophical roots of the practice can guide our relationship to effort, surrender, and discipline.

SATURDAY: Mantra, Myth & Movement - Saturday centers around the story of Hanuman, a symbol of devotion, courage, and humility. Through mantra, storytelling, and dynamic asana practice, we will explore arm balances, headstand, and playful expressions of strength that invite both power and lightness into the body.

Expect a blend of:

• Progressive strength work

• Mobility exploration

• Skill-building for inversions and arm balances

• Mythic storytelling and mantra

SUNDAY: Integration & Asana Lab - The final day integrates the weekend’s work through an asana lab, intelligent sequencing, meditation, and deep rest.

Students will have space to explore questions, refine techniques, and connect the physical and philosophical threads of the weekend before closing with restorative practices that allow the body and nervous system to fully absorb the work.
