ABOUT US

A woman instructs a fitness class with two people exercising on the floor in front of her, in a bright room with large windows.

the why behind riot

bodyRIOT didn’t begin as a business plan. It began as a frustration.

Caroline Plambeck is a mom, strength athlete, yogi, and entrepreneur who grew tired of feeling like she had to choose between intensity and sustainability — between lifting heavy and caring for her nervous system, between building strength and prioritizing recovery. The wellness industry often encourages people to fragment their routine, sending them to one place to lift, another to flow, and somewhere else to recover, if recovery is considered at all. Over time, it became clear that this separation wasn’t aligned with how people actually want to train or live.

yogaRIOT has been part of the Portland community for over a decade. In 2022, Caroline stepped in to lead its next chapter, carrying forward the discipline, edge, and community that had already been built while refining the programming and expanding its impact. The heated power vinyasa room became a place where people developed strength, resilience, and consistency through intentional movement.

As her own training evolved — through motherhood, strength cycles, and a deeper commitment to long-term performance — so did the vision for what this space could become.

bodyRIOT is that evolution. It builds on more than ten years of community and experience while expanding into structured strength training, integrated recovery, and a fully connected system. It represents the belief that intensity and sustainability belong in the same room, and that real wellness is built through consistency over time.

The mission remains simple: create a space where people can build bodies that feel strong now and still work years from now.

What We Believe

Radical Movement

Movement should challenge you. It should build strength, sharpen focus, and expand capacity. We believe in training that asks something of you — structured strength, disciplined flow, intelligent progression. Radical movement isn’t about extremes. It’s about intention, effort, and growth over time.

Real Wellness

Wellness isn’t aesthetic. It’s functional. It’s how well your body adapts, recovers, and sustains output over years. Recovery is not an afterthought here; it’s built into the system. Real wellness means nervous system care, muscle repair, mobility, and rest are treated with the same respect as intensity.

Built for Real Life

We are not training for a highlight reel. We are training for parenthood, deadlines, aging well, long hikes, heavy lifts, and resilient minds. The goal is not burnout. It’s durability. Your practice should support your life, not compete with it.

Community Is the Multiplier

Strength compounds faster in the right room. Community keeps you consistent when motivation dips. Culture sets the standard. We believe in showing up for yourself and for each other — with effort, respect, and a willingness to grow.
